5Super for the price!
By Jan Fleming-spillane
Awesome TV for the price. Frame looks like carbon fiber picture is excellent especially with blu ray. Sound is very good as good as our Sony Wega tube tv.High quality IPS panel offers excellent viewing angles. I just wish it had more sound out options. Easy set up to our comcast Magnavox hd dvr with a $3 hdmi cable.Using blu ray from ps3. Now just need a surround sound! Oh we have a VERY small house so a 32" is a great size! Buy this you won't be sorry.

5**Panasonic ROCKS!**
By Joy
This Internet Connected HDTV is Awesome! I have purchased a few other TV's in the past few months & all of them had to be returned because of defects. This Panasonic is PERFECT! I could not ask for more. I do not have a DVR, Cable, Satellite or any of that high tech technology. I just have a plain antenna and receive local channels & it works Great. The picture is bright & colorful and the 32" size works for me as I live in a 1 br apt & use it in my living room. It is my only household TV. If I could have afforded a larger one I would have gotten it, but this is fine. PLUS, I saved $152.00 by purchasing it from Amazon and received it in ONE DAY! The sound is good also.I watch a lot of movies and stream my Netflix directly to it. Once in awhile I need to turn the sound almost all the way up, but mostly it is fine. (I do have a handicap in my hearing as I have a nerve deafness in my ears and it makes me very hard of hearing, so this may be the problem & not the TV at all.) Some day I will get a sound bar or extra attachment to enhance the sound system but in the meantime I am perfectly happy with this product and Amazon's service.I highly recommend it! GET It - You won't be sorry.

4Nice TV
By LP
This TV has a good picture. The black levels are deep and the whites bright. It does however have a glossy screen which can cause reflections on the screen in a brightly lit room. Also while most blurays look good on this television it does have problems with very dark scenes. For example in the Harry Potter movies the screen often turns so dark that you can't see what is going on in the scene. I believe that this problem is caused by the fact that this is a LCD TV rather than poor craftsmanship on the part of Panasonic. This is a small problem as the vast majority of blurays look good even in dark scenes. Overall this is a very nice TV but, if you are looking for great shadow detail spend a few dollars more and get a plasma.

5Just about perfect
By R. A. Livingston
This model replaces LG's mid-range offerings from the past two years which are currently being sold or cleared out at the various retailers. I did a lot of research between brands and models, and am convinced that this is currently the best combination of price/performance/features. Sale prices are more than $100 less than the older models, too.Size: 37" TVs aren't as commonly stocked in stores, but I think it's a great size with a bigger picture than 32" without many more $$$. 40" or 42" were just too big for me to use and usually entailed a significant price jump.Picture: The picture is fantastic, and the Picture Wizard tutorial helps get the colors set to something pleasing in short order. Viewing at an angle is superb, and was a differentiating factor from the Sony EX series. The Sonys washed out considerably with only a small change in viewing angle. I was tempted by LEDs but found the reflectiveness of their screens too distracting. I also looked into the 120 Hz models but, in my humble opinion, found them to be much ado about nothing. I like to watch action sports and have found everything to be crystal clear at 60 Hz. Side by side in the store I found the LG and comparable Samsung to be nearly identical.Sound: I was prepared for the worst after reading scores of reviews saying that the sound out of this grade of speakers was terrible. I've been delighted with the output and the "surround" enhancement was good enough to be disconcerting (only because I wasn't expecting it). There are 5 sound modes in addition to custom; I haven't reached an opinion yet about these being a positive or negative. I see no need to get external speakers at this point.[as an aside, I found one station for which the sound was out of sync with the picture. I'm connected via HDMI to a FiOS HD box. I'm not enough of a techie to know the cause for this, but all the stations that are my regulars are fine. It was PetHD that was out of sync.]Features: There are ample inputs, including USB, but to date I've only used the HDMI. Unless you are looking for cutting edge Internet connectivity and are willing to pay for it, this has everything you need. I personally don't see the world of TV moving to 3D anytime soon, if at all, and certainly the current offerings aren't ready for prime time. For a 60 Hz, 1080p LCD TV there wasn't anything better that I found (that was worth the extra money).Bottom Line: Great picture, great price. I was surprised that I got mine at Sears (of all places) for a price that blew everyone else away. I usually order from amazon with Prime shipping, but until last week their price wasn't competitive. My research told me that the prices on all these sets are in constant flux and the best price this week won't be at the same place next week.

5I've had LCDs before...
By Q. Nguyen
For the price, this LCD is phenomenal. I went to the local best buy looking for something to mount in the dining room so I can watch the news in the morning among other TV shows. After looking at all the 32s, 37s and 40s. This one stood above the rest. I have a Samsung LN46A650 and in my opinion, it was their best line of TVs and I'm glad I don't have to pick from their subpar line of TVs now. I've seen clarity, rich colors 1080p etc etc etc. The LG is comparable to a TV that was 3 times its price.Let me explain. You really have to literally take look all of the quailties of a TV in order to make an educated and smart purchase. Don't buy a sony becuase it's a sony. Don't buy a TV of the same size that's more expensive because somewhere in our upbringing we wer taught, expensive = better. Not the case. When looking for a TV, look at how choppy fast motion is. Do you see background pixelation around the central image? (like a fast moving car, a football player, etc.) Can you see inconsistencies in the back lighting? Are blacks rich while the rest of the picture is vibrant? (not bright, vibrant)Does the picture look grainy or are the textures smooth? Try not to get caught up in the technical aspects of the TV if you don't know what they mean. They'll just make you *think* one TV is better than the other. Look at the TV and let your eyes decide. After comparing several models in a similar size range, and taking cost into account, this TV wins hands down. At the store, you have to try to remove the factor of the factory settings becuse stores don't take the time to optimize *each and every* TV. Most TVs nowadays have more customization than you can shake a stick at. Gone are the basic color, tint, brightness settings. Now it's gamma, RGB, temperature and so on. Most TVs have the ability to be tuned the way you want it and it's because of this that it is so important to focus in on the mentioned above items. This LG shows a wonderful smooth picture that isn't grainy, doesn't show pixelation and colors are rich and lifelike, not plasticy and bright. Yes the Samsung of the same size is just as good, but the extra $200 it cost isn't. Go and literally take a look at your local store and look for the things I mentioned above an you'll see that this is a great Tv.

4Great Value
By Wm Sean Donovan
We have been looking for a bedroom TV (had to be LCD and 1080P) for the past couple months. This was almost a no brainer, especially with the discounts we received from the store from which we purchased (HHGregg). It was even cheaper than Amazon pricing which is a shocker. This was our first LG purchase. We have typically been Samsung (love the 58" plasma) and Sharp (have a 32" 720P for the boys gaming), but the LG seems to be the most user friendly. I love the quick guide option off the remote which takes you quickly to areas of interest in setting up sound, video, etc... Set-up was simple and the screen looks awesome. There are no Internet access points, but as this is just a TV for the bedroom we were not pressed on that front. I would recommend this TV for sure as a new model along with the most needed bells and whistles to make a typical buyer happy. Enjoy!

4Very pleased so far. *EDITED*
By Irishlady
I guess I'll break the ice and be the first to review this TV.I searched for a decent 37" TV at a reasonable price and looked at several different brands. I almost bought a Vizio because of the price, but then I found this Toshiba for less than 600$. Here is what I can say about it so far:This TV has a very good picture especially on the Directv hi-def channels. It has some interesting features that I have not yet used such as:the ability to play picture files (like a giant digital photo frame, andthe ability to play MUSIC files, like a giant Mp3 player. When I press the "mute" (to mute the sound)button, it will mute half way, then another press of the button mutes the sound completely. It has a computer terminal for connecting a PC.It has 4 HDMI inputs. The reason I gave this TV 4 stars is the viewing angles--like most LCDs, you need to sit almost directly in front of the screen. If you try and watch it too far off to one side, the colors get a bit washed out.For an auxillary TV, this one fits the bill. My home theatre TV is a 50" plasma, and that TV blows this one away. But if you just want a fairly large TV for everyday watching and not the whole "home theatre" experience, you will be pleased with this unit. I think Toshiba is a decent brand and most of the reviews on other Toshiba models have been pretty good.

5LOVE THIS TV LIKE A SON!!!
By SteveB
I just purchased this TV to replace my Samsung 27" tube HDTV which was an absolute beast (147 lbs!). This TV is WONDERFUL! It's the 3rd Toshiba LCD in my house (also have a 32" in my bedroom and a 19" in the home office). The picture is crystal clear with rich, bright, vibrant colors. I watch a lot of sports and play video games on this TV and it performs great for both. There aren't noticeable tracers when watching fast action. I wish it had a regular a/v sound output (red & white), but it only offers a digital audio output which doesn't work w/ my out-dated receiver (not the TV's fault). I compared this side-by-side to LG's similarly priced 37" model and it blew the LG away. The picture was brighter, clearer, and lost less quality at an angle. I've noticed some reviews that are critical of the TV's sound, but I'm not having any issues with it. I'm sure it doesn't compare to the sound quality of a home theatre system, but it isn't any worse than any other TV I've owned. If you're looking to get the most bang for your buck on a moderately priced lcd TV, this is the one.

5Nice TV
By Mike V
I'll keep this one short and sweet. Ive had this TV for several weeks now, and couldn't be happier. The picture is awesome. Our other TV is a Samsung 40 inch, which is another highly rated LCD, and I made my own comparison by watching a Stanley Cup Hockey game on both TV's and could not tell any difference. A Hockey game broadcast in HD is a very good test for your TV's clarity, and this Toshiba did not disappoint. The dynamic aspect ratio works great. The fact that Toshiba doesn't publish the contrast ratio should not be a deterrent for getting this TV. Contrast ratio is a marketing gimmick, and the determination should be that if you look at the picture, and it looks great to your eyes, who cares what the actual contrast ratio is? The blacks look black, and the whites look white, and there isn't much more to worry about.Good price for a great TV!

Disclaimer: This is all personal opinion. There was Beta vs VHS...There is Mac vs Windows...And there is Plasma vs LCD/LED...Like Beta and Mac, Plasma is the higher quality technology. Like VHS and Windows, LCD/LED is the user-friendly norm. To each his/her own.I prefer Plasma.PROS:Less pixelation, faster refresh rate, less action-blur, 30 yrs life at 8 hours a day viewing, "image burn-in" almost nonexistent in newer models (would require MAJOR user-negligence, and it's a temporary effect anyway), on the average the sound quality is better/resonance, a more durable screen surface (better for people with pets who throw toys around and children who might push at the screen---ask your local dealer to knock his knuckles against a plasma screen and an LCD one, he won't knock on the LCD screen!), and unlike Macs though..."plasmas" are also the better technology BUT at the cheaper price. Life usually isn't that kind! The better product for the better price:-) Take advantage of it!NEUTRALS:Some might see the "higher quality but cheaper price" is a precursor to a technology that is being phased out of service (like the Beta tapes, or even Toshiba's HD-DVDs that eventually lost to Sony's Blu-Ray). That's understandable! But keep in mind, to my knowledge there are no LCD tv's beyond 65" as the technology can't support it. Those "enormo-screens" like Jerry Jones' "Everything is Bigger in Texas" boob tubes are Plasmas! Plasmas aren't going away...CONS:Glare. Period. It IS an issue! The only issue. Personally, I think LCDs show their fair share of washed-out, hazy-glare at various angles anyway, but they still reign supreme in high light. Being a former glass-screen, tube-tv viewer...I don't find it any worse, but the "glare is there" so to speak. Can be "mirror-like" in the very worst cases. Blinds can solve the problem and setting the tv at a height of 4' or higher in room makes most sitting-angles, couches/tablechairs fine from window light. Still, it IS an issue."Plasma tvs run at a hot temperature and drain more energy." That's kind of out-dated. And the energy-draw is probably like $2 more a month. (Interesting sidenote...when choosing between the Panasonic and the Samsung, noticed the Samsung plasma screen felt rather warm whereas the Panasonic felt room temp.)CLOSING STATEMENT: Panasonic is/has been Plasma-industry leader since day 1...they've always focused on plasmas unlike Samsung, LG etc (not saying they're bad). Despite selling HDTV's a few years ago at a major chain, I just got my first HDTV a few weeks ago! Couldn't afford one until now. Always kept my eye on the Panasonic plasmas though and the Panasonic TC-P42X3 was worth the wait. I sit (using the old walking-foot count) ~12' away from my tv in an apartment living room w/ 2 larger windows. I'll take the better picture with some "glare-issues" in the morning then the lower quality picture with "little glare" issues anyday!ANY HDtv is better than the old CRTs (even though I loved them--"pixelation"?!? Who ever heard of "pixelation"?!!!), but I must confess this is a really good tv. I debated b/w a 1080p 32" LCD and a 42" 720p Pan plasma. Wanted great picture. Was afraid I was sitting too close to a 42" at 12'. Not so. An old worker-associate steered me back in the right direction that was my gut instinct to begin with...a 42" Panasonic Viera Plasma! Alvin at hhGregg, Dayton Ohio (sorry Amazon)! His commission was a pittance but his advice priceless.Hope this review helped...

5X3: tv and wifi
By Jackson Pollock
I just got a new X3 for a great price, and here's my experience. As a TV the X3 is excellent. I have it connected to a roof antenna, and the reception is excellent. It has a very good picture on hd broadcasts, and good also on sd broadcasts. The sound is good for a TV. The remote is a good size and easy to use. I could wish for a dedicated sleep-timer button, I suppose, but it's still a well-designed remote. Given that the current price on the 42" X3 is comparable to a non-network TV, just for these virtues this set represents a great buy.If you want a wifi connection, you'll need a usb network adapter and there are apparently only two choices--the panasonic model DY-WL10 (~$90) or the cheaper Netgear WNDA3100 v2. There is some confusion about the Netgear, since it has to be the v2 and the serial number has to start with 2D4 or 20A (actually, it's really hard to tell the difference between these two sequences when the print is that small--maybe they're actually the same). These are sometimes identified on the package as being compatible with panasonic TVs. There is no particular reason to think the panasonic adapter is better than the netgear. I got both accidentally: the panasonic adapter can be easier to find, but I also found a used netgear on amazon without much difficulty for ~$20.But my experience trying to get a wifi connection has been frustrating, mainly because of a problem with my dsl modem/router. The setup procedure is simple and straightforward. But I had difficulties and worked through the procedure with a cs rep on the phone with no success. I am glad to report that the cs rep was patient and helpful, even though he couldn't solve my problem.Subsequently it became clear that my old modem/router was causing the trouble. It used the older "G" wifi protocol, but it was also prone to dropping the internet connection. So I needed to replace it in any event. Anyway, I got the latest "N" protocol modem/router compatible with my ISP. As soon as I set it up, the tv recognised the router's wifi signal with either the netgear or the panasonic wireless usb adapter. The reception of streaming videos is flawless--excellent picture and sound quality.Another option not quite as elegant as the tiny usb adapter is to configure a second wifi router to serve as a bridge. That would give you an ethernet connection you can place next to the TV, and as a bonus extend the range of your wifi throughout your house. There are lots of guides for how to do this online.Anyway, the result of all of this is that I've changed my rating to 5 stars for a truly excellent tv. Second, I'm returning the panasonic wireless adapter. The netgear works perfectly for less than a quarter of the price.I couldn't be happier with this tv now. But I would recommend making sure your router uses the "N" protocol. I'm not certain that this matters, but I haven't had any problems since I switched my router.Updated 3/26/2011

5Beautiful
By Jake B.
I ordered this from Amazon for $694 and I got $10 off with a coupon I had plus the shipping was free and they brought it right up into my apartment so all I had to do was install it. The install is very simple just screw it into the stand, plug in all the wires and then there is an automated setup process so you just pick your options along the way.The stand feels very secure, it's a big black platform about 2'x1.5' with steal rods that go up inside the TV and screw in, there are 3 screws in each rod that connect it to the platform and 2 in each that connect it to the TV. I was able to do all that by myself but just barely and I'm a pretty big guy so considering the size and weight of the TV it should be at least a 2 man job.If you get the version with the built in Ethernet adapter you can connect to your Netflix, Pandora, Napster and a number of other sites to watch or listen to whatever you want. Then of course the inputs, 2 HDMI, an SD Card reader, 1xRCA and 1xRCAHD, of course read the specs carefully because there are different versions of this same TV (i.e. one version with an Ethernet adapter and 1 without and there might be one that is also 3D ready but it might be more expensive then the one I'm reviewing)The color and picture are beautiful, I play a lot of video games so picture quality was important to me, if you're a gamer this TV is for you. I play halo on Xbox 360 and one of my biggest issues was ghosting (when you look around too quickly and everything blurs) with this TV that issue is almost completely taken care of, there is still some blur but it's extremely mild.As for the picture quality being 720p...well there a lot of people who will say a lot of stuff when it comes to the differences between 720p, 1080p, 720i and 1080i and I can only speak from experience but I do have a 23" computer monitor that is 1080p and I tried to play the same things on there that I did on the TV (and I have a very good computer with a high end graphics card) and yes I know it isn't a perfect test but it's the best I could do and from what I could tell there was very little difference. So in my opinion for the size, quality and price it's a very good deal. The only real problem with it that I've noticed so far is that if you get too close things look...grainy almost like you can see black spots everywhere on it however if you are even 1ft away you can't see them at all and considering it's 50" I hope you're sitting at least 1ft away lol.

4Pretty good quality for a very good price.
By AJ McLaughlin
Let me start by saying that my television came promptly and in one piece, two days after ordering. I was very happy about that, and even happier that it wasn't busted up into fragments during shipping- so order with confidence. As for the television itself, the picture is pretty amazing. Some say you can't really tell the difference between 780 and 1080 with televisions of this size, but comparing it to my roommates television of the same size, mine looks clearer and crisper. No dead pixels so far and everything looks sharp in HD. It is also worth noting that the television turns on very quickly, without any beeping noises or space sounds. The sound quality is not bad at all. There is an option to simulate surround sound on the tv's speakers, which in my opinion, made it even better. The volume is good enough for me, and my bedroom is pretty large and cavernous. The TV also has enough HDMI ports for all my gadgets: cable box, XBOX, Wii, my laptop- they all fit. This is the only knock I have, and the reason it didn't receive 5 stars: When I went to attach the television stand to the bottom of the TV, the screws were absolutely obnoxious to get into the holes. They did not fit properly or easily and the screws were easily stripped. The end result is that, although it is firmly attached to the stand, it is wobbly and makes me pretty nervous about someone bumping it. If you plan to wall mount, don't worry about it- but I was unhappy with the way the stand was constructed.Still, a highly recommended purchase. The page doesn't say, but the tv comes with a 1-year limited warranty if you're concerned. I am not. I'm happy with my new TV!

1No customer service
By John P. Thesz
Owned my tv for right at 6 months when it failed. It was under warranty, so I called and the tech showed up the next day. Great! He orders 2 boards for it, they take a week. Ok, fine. He replaces parts, does not fix, and tells me it is the panel itself, which is no longer made and I have to get a replacement. Hmmm. He forwards my case to On Corporation (the company that actually makes RCA tvs) and I wait. Coming up on 2 weeks now, not a word. I call the number given to me by the tech, answering machine. I leave daily messages. Nothing. Wow.

5Sturdy Starter HDTV
By Kevin L. Nenstiel
My last HDTV, a Dynex, had problems with murky color in the earth tones. Because of this, half-lit scenes in my favorite shows tended to become unreadable. It made watching suspense shows taxing, but I thought it was just a characteristic of HD. This unit proves that's not so. It has bright, clear colors, and even darkened rooms and caves have enough definition that I can follow the action. It also has clear enough sound that I can enjoy my favorite cable music channels.Several previous reviewers have given this unit bad rates because of their run-ins with customer service. I can't speak to that, because I've had nothing but good luck with this unit, and have had no need to contact customer service. Therefore I can say, with a certain level of comfort, that I approve of this television. It does everything I need a TV to do, and it does it well, without running up my electric bills. Definitely a good, inexpensive TV for families, businesses, and dorms.
